Miracle at Wheat Penny is a one-of-a-kind Christmas cocktail experience in the heart of downtown Effingham! As the only official Miracle pop-up bar in Illinois, we transform our historic underground cocktail bar into a festive holiday wonderland filled with over-the-top Christmas décor, specialty holiday cocktails, delicious food, and plenty of Christmas cheer.

Main Area
This is our primary dining and cocktail seating area, perfect for couples, friends, and smaller groups looking to enjoy the full experience.
Buffalo Room
Looking for a slightly different atmosphere? The Buffalo Room offers a unique setting separate from our Main Area while still delivering the full Miracle experience! You’ll enjoy the same festive holiday décor, specialty cocktails, delicious food, and Christmas cheer in a space with its own distinct personality.
The Buffalo Room is available to book through our regular reservation system. Simply select this seating area when making your reservation!

The Vault | Private Holiday Experience
Want to celebrate the season with your own private group? The Vault is the perfect option!
Tucked away inside our historic underground bar, The Vault offers a private space for groups of 9–20 guests to enjoy the magic of Miracle together. Whether you’re planning a holiday gathering with friends, a family celebration, or a company Christmas party, The Vault provides a more intimate experience.
Private Room Fee: $150
Reservation Duration: 2 hours and 45 minutes
Group Size: 9–20 guests
Food & Beverages: Available for purchase separately
Payment Policy: All food and beverages must be placed on ONE tab. Separate checks are not available.
The $150 fee reserves the entire private space for your group during your selected reservation time.

Reservations & Walk-Ins
Reservations are highly encouraged due to limited seating and high demand. Walk-ins are always welcome at no charge, but seating is not guaranteed and will be based on availability.
Reservation Fees
To preserve and enhance our guest experience, we've extended our seating times from last year! The $10 table fee helps us manage reservations while allowing guests more time to relax, enjoy their cocktails, and soak in the holiday magic without feeling rushed.
Depending on your party size, you'll enjoy 1.5–2 hours at your reserved table. Food and beverages are available for purchase separately and are not included in reservation fees.
Your seating time begins at your scheduled reservation time, NOT your arrival time. Please arrive promptly, as late arrivals cannot be accommodated with additional time.
How to Book The Vault
Planning a holiday gathering with a larger group? The Vault is our private room experience, perfect for parties of 9–20 guests looking to celebrate together!
To reserve The Vault, follow these simple steps:

Browse the available Vault reservation time slots.
Select your preferred time slot and complete your reservation!
Each Vault reservation includes 2 hours and 45 minutes of private room access for a $150 reservation fee.
Group Reservations
To ensure your group is seated together, your entire party MUST be booked under ONE reservation and ONE name.
Please confirm your total guest count before booking. Due to limited seating and high demand, we are unable to combine separate reservations, rearrange tables, or increase party sizes after booking.
For groups of 9–20 guests, please reserve The Vault. Standard Main Area and Buffalo Room reservations accommodate parties of up to 8 guests.

The Reindeer Room | Welcome Bar
The Christmas cheer starts before you even make it downstairs!
Every Friday and Saturday from 5:00–10:00 PM, we’ll be opening The Reindeer Room, our festive welcome bar located upstairs inside XCHNG, directly above Wheat Penny!
Arriving early for your Miracle reservation? Stop into The Reindeer Room, grab a drink, and get the holiday festivities started! We’ll be serving classic cocktails, beer, and wine in a fun, welcoming atmosphere while you wait for your reserved seating downstairs.
The best part? You don't need a Miracle reservation to enjoy The Reindeer Room! Whether you're waiting for your table downstairs or simply looking for a festive spot to grab a drink with friends, everyone is welcome to come in, hang out, and soak up the Christmas cheer!
